The latest addition to the Daiwa family, the 23 AIRITY spinning reel, lives up to its name by being the lightest traditional spinning reel ever produced by Daiwa. Breaking the 150g barrier for the first time, this reel boasts the innovative AIRDRIVE DESIGN, which combines four elements to provide unparalleled precision control to the angler.
The most notable feature of the AIRDRIVE DESIGN is the AIRDRIVE ROTOR, with its smooth design and flowing lines delivering lighter start-up inertia and fluid reeling, even under heavy loads. The AIRDRIVE BAIL, a one-piece tubular hollow bail arm that has evolved from Daiwa's original AIR BAIL design, is lighter and thinner than previous models, improving start-up inertia and delivering refined reeling. The AIRDRIVE SPOOL incorporates Daiwa's famous Longcast ABS spool lip, but is now lighter than before, reducing resistance when retrieving by decreasing the force required from the oscillation system to move the spool up and down.
The AIRDRIVE Shaft, hidden inside the MQ body, is double supported by special collars inside the pinion gear, which reduces friction and minimizes power loss through the reel's drive train. The MONOCOQUE (MQ) body, crafted from a single piece of treated Magnesium, is incredibly light and supports a TOUGH DIGIGEAR drive system, forged, and machined from a high-strength alloy, ensuring smooth and reliable performance for years to come.
The 23 AIRITY spinning reel is available in a range of sizes from 2000-5000, making it suitable for a variety of freshwater, light-tackle, and inshore fisheries throughout Australia. With its AIRDRIVE DESIGN, this reel is one of the most refined fishing reels ever produced by Daiwa.

Magnesium Body
Reels featuring a magnesium body are significantly lighter than conventional alloy bodied reels. Daiwa’s magnesium, Air Metal, technology processes the magnesium in a unique way that results in full corrosion resistance.
 

Monocoque (MQ) | One-Piece Body
A one-piece frame eliminates the use of traditional two-piece body & side plate construction. A single piece body utilises a screw-in engine plate to house the main gear, reducing flex and twist under load creating a sealed mechanism. The elimination of the side plate has also allowed for a more compact body design. MQ technology not only makes reels stronger & better sealed, but also more compact.

Air-Rotor
Lighter, stronger, and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.
 

ATD-Drag | Automatic Tournament Drag
Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
 

Magsealed-Body
Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.
 

Magsealed Line Roller
