Daiwa Over There 110H fishing rod
By: nigel rooney on 13 July 2023This rod is a fantastic mid-tier product from Daiwa. The finish and components are impeccable. I use this 11-footer as a daytime/low swell beach fishing rod, I use a 13' for night fishing and when the swell is up a bit. I've found the Over There to cast up to 50gms superbly with 25lb 8-strand braid. As a bait fishing rod targeting tailor it is a little stiff in the tip section, so tends to be a bit unforgiving of tailor's head-shaking, jumping antics which has resulted in fish de-hooking themselves on the way in. There is an up-side to this however! I've found that by converting away from gang hooks to snelled hooks (thanks Starlo vid!) I've not only eliminated the problem, but gotten a dramatically better hook-up ratio. This, added to the incredible sensitivity and feather-light weight of the rod make it an absolute joy to use :) A huge shout-out to Angler's Wharehouse whose customer service and delivery on this rod was the best I have ever experienced, and spring chicken I aint. Absolutely perfect! "Highly Recommended" :)
