Tiemco Critter Tackle Wild Mouse Original Lure

Trigger explosive surface strikes with the Tiemco Critter Tackle Wild Mouse Original, an 88mm floating mouse-shaped soft plastic designed for effortless skipping, snag-resistant rigging and quick walk-the-dog action.

The Tiemco Critter Tackle Wild Mouse Original Lure is a Japanese-designed topwater soft bait featuring a unique rounded mouse-shaped body and buoyant elastomer construction. Measuring 88mm and weighing approximately 4g, this floating surface lure creates rapid side-to-side movements that imitate small prey escaping across the water.

Designed to perform around challenging structure, the Wild Mouse features a rounded body that provides excellent skipping ability, allowing anglers to reach tight areas beneath overhanging branches and around vegetation. Its compatibility with offset hooks creates a snag-resistant presentation, while the carefully developed elastomer density helps improve hook-setting performance compared with excessively buoyant hollow-bodied frog lures.

Expert Advice

The Tiemco Wild Mouse Original is designed for fishing around shallow structure where predatory fish are waiting to ambush prey. Rig the lure with a suitably sized offset hook, ensuring the hook point is positioned correctly to maintain its snag-resistant presentation.

Use short, rhythmic rod tip twitches with a little slack line to produce its signature walk-the-dog action. The rounded body also allows anglers to skip the lure beneath overhanging branches and into tight areas that can be difficult to reach with conventional surface lures.

Experiment with quick surface movements followed by short pauses to keep the lure in the strike zone. For best results, allow the lure to move naturally across the surface rather than retrieving it at a constant speed.

As the Wild Mouse is made from elastomer, store it separately from conventional soft plastic lures unless material compatibility has been confirmed.
